sherry truitt is a small design studio located between the pine barrens and southern shores of New Jersey. Sherry and her husband Bob work and live in a restored craftsman bungalow with a studio on the property.
anything but conventional jewelry + objects is a fluid collection of hand crafted work. It mixes vintage maps with sterling silver, steel, wood and golden bronze to create the pieces found in the store.
To preserve her maps, Sherry works with a new soy based resin as she endeavors to leave a lighter footprint on the planet. She embraces the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, the beauty of imperfection. It’s what makes each hand crafted piece different from the next.
Her map jewelry is worn the world over, to capture memories of adventures and explorations; to celebrate weddings, for couples that have adopted from a faraway place and those who are celebrating milestone anniversaries.
Sherry's map drawer pulls grace the cabinets of explorers and rock stars, nurseries and the libraries of the young at heart. You'll also find them on Bob's handcrafted shelves and bread boards.
Sherry and Bob are proud to announce that they have selected Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) for our 2016 and 2017 charity partner.
